ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Q. Will a course transfer to my Master's degree program?
A. Graduate credit may be transferable if you receive prior approval from the university you are attending for your degree program. Please check with your advisor.

Q. How many classes can I take at a time?
A. No student may earn more than 11 credit hours per semester of 20 credit hours in the school year (September 1 - August 31). Fall/winter semester begins September 1, spring semester begins January 1, and summer begins May 1.

Q. What if I have to miss a day of class?
A. Due to the compact course schedule, it is inappropriate for students to miss any class time. Please do not schedule classes for which you must miss any time. If a student is absent more than 20 percent of the time from any course, no graduate credit can be earned for the course. Absolutely no class time can be missed when a student is taking a course for CEUs/CPDUs.

Q. How can I get a paid receipt for the class I attended?
A. Paid receipts are sent out complimentary for each class attended. You can expect to receive these automatically within two weeks from the last day of your course to your home address. Receipts cannot be faxed.

Q. What if I can no longer attend a class?
A. If you cancel at any time, you will lose your deposit. If you drop your class after it begins but prior to the second session, you are responsible for the deposit and materials fees. If you drop the class after the second session, you are responsible for the full tuition and materials.

Q. What if I need a transcript?
A. Complimentary transcripts will be mailed to all students approximately six weeks after a course ends. For questions about or cost of additional copies of your transcript, call Saint Xavier University at 773-298-3000.

Q. What is a TAP?
A. Saint Xavier University and Pearson Achievement Solutions gives teachers the credit they deserve through the Teacher Application Project (TAP). To earn TAP credit, you must plan, implement, and evaluate an in-depth application of course ideas for your classroom. A TAP instructor reviews and evaluates your project and student artifacts during a follow-up evaluation session 3-5 weeks after the core class ends. You must be actively teaching to elect the TAP option for any course. TAP credit is only available for one or two credit hour graduate courses. TAP requires school administration approval. **This may not be applicable if you are on break during the summer semester. Find out more about TAP.

ASSIGNMENTS AND MATERIALS

Q. How quickly will I get my course materials once I register?
A. Materials will be available on the first day of class from the instructor for courses you attend on site.

Q. How quickly can I expect my grade to be issued?
A. Grades will be processed within a four-week period after the last day of class for site-based courses and after a five-week period for any TAP projects submitted. Please make sure you plan ahead for any school or state deadlines. Grades cannot be faxed.

Q. What if I need my grade faster than the four-week period?
A. Because classes are processed and graded as a whole, we are unable to offer expedited grading regardless of how quickly an instructor submits grades. Please make sure you plan ahead for any school or state deadlines.
